As a reflection of feeling of social responsibility to the local community where we operate, all subsidiaries of SC Johnson is dedicated to share its resources for the welfare and development of people and environment. We believe that, sharing what we have with the community increases our motivation, enthusiasm makes our personnel and company happier.
It's nice to live next door to a family that cares about its neighbours. We are committed to being a good neighbour wherever we do business.
SC Johnson is dedicated to improving, protecting and sustaining the environment.
Here are some examples of the activities SC Johnson Romania was involved during
the years:
- May 2003: Active, founding member of United Way Romania, a new non-profit
organization that is determined to give a helping hand, for Romania to build
a strong community capable to participate with active donations and
voluntary activities that will lead to life quality improvement. After
choosing which projects will be financed, both the company and its
employees donate money for that cause
- May 2003: SC Johnson Wax Romania in cooperation with the Botanical
Gardens financed a project where they installed 50 new benches in the
Gardens and built a playground for kids. Also SCJ"S employees volunteered to
help with the spring clean in the Gardens
- December 2003: In cooperation with ADP sector 6, SC Johnson planted
trees along the Dambovita's bank, and offered these trees as a symbolic
Christmas gift to its partners
- June 2004: SC Johnson employers have spent some time with the children
from Aurora Daycare Center, children that suffer form neuromotor
disabilities. This center also benefits form financial founds donated by
United Way Romania.
- October 2002 & June 2004: SC Johnson supported AmCham's "Corporate
Social Responsibility" conference and "People for People" events, based on
our corporate commitment to the subject and our duty for role-modelling in
the local business community in order to create awareness and provide
stimulus for activities that focus on building community capacity
- For their 10 year anniversary in Romania SC Johnson donated 1000 lei
for each product sold in July 2004 (for up to a total quantity of 1 million
products sold during that month). The money acquired this way (30.000$) were
used to buy books for school libraries all over the country.
